Former Sioux Emmanuel Little taken seventh overall in CBA draft

GRAND FORKS, N.D. ? Former University of North Dakota forward Emmanuel Little was selected by the East Kentucky Miners in the second round, seventh overall, of the Continental Basketball Association College Draft last night.

 

Little, a native of Chicago, Ill., spent two seasons with the Fighting Sioux (2006-07 to 2007-08) and was named to the All-North Central Conference team in each of those seasons. The 6-foot-5, 195-pound forward led the team in scoring and rebounding in each of his two seasons, averaging 14.8 points and 8.1 rebounds in 58 games in a Sioux uniform.

 

Last season Little averaged 15.4 points and 8.1 rebounds and led UND to its first NCC championship game since 2002. He was also named to the NCC All-Tournament team.

 

In 2006-07, his first season at UND, Little averaged 14.1 points and 8.1 rebounds, becoming the first Sioux since 2002-03 to lead the NCC in rebounding. He also ranked second in the NCC in field goal.

 

Little, who graduated from UND with a bachelor's degree in general studies, ranks seventh on the school's all-time field goal percentage list (.546) and was a four-time NCC Player of the Week honoree.
