GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota athletics department is excited to announce the date for the third annual Halloween Hoops/Meet the Sioux event. Halloween Hoops will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. in the Betty Engelstad Arena with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
This year's event is open to youth of all ages and will feature a Halloween costume contest voted on by the Fighting Sioux men's and women's basketball players. Categories include: scariest, funniest, most creative and best Sioux-based.
All Sioux fans in attendance are encouraged to sport their best and most appropriate Halloween attire.
Also included in the evening's activities will be an introduction of the 2009-2010 Fighting Sioux men's and women's basketball teams followed by a three-point competition, featuring members of both teams.
Fans will also have a chance to meet the teams and to collect player autographs. Autograph cards will be available at the event.
In the spirit of Halloween and trick-or-treating, candy will be provided to all those in attendance and Sioux Boosters will be selling hot dogs, chips and soda all for only $1.
