UND ranked eighth in USCHO.com/CBS College Sports poll

GRAND FORKS, N.D. ? The University of North Dakota men's hockey team is ranked No. 8 in the latest USCHO.com/CBS College Sports Division I poll released today.

UND climbed one spot from last week's ranking after earning a Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) sweep at Alaska Anchorage last weekend. The Sioux defeated the unranked Seawolves 2-1 on Friday and 6-2 on Saturday to remain tied for first place in the WCHA. UND also became the first WCHA team to clinch home ice for the first round of the playoffs.

Boston University remained atop this week's poll after collecting 31 of 50 first-place votes. Second-ranked Notre Dame received the remaining 19 first-places vote.

The Sioux are one of seven WCHA teams appearing in this week's top 20, joining No. 5 Denver, No. 14 Minnesota Duluth, No. 16 Wisconsin, No. 18 Minnesota and No. 19 Colorado College.

UND will host Colorado College this Saturday and Sunday at Ralph Engelstad Arena. The puck drops at 3:37 p.m. each afternoon.
