GRAND FORKS, N.D.--University of North Dakota head softball coach Sami Strinz announced today that walk-on tryouts will be held on Monday, Aug. 31 and on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Both tryouts will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at Apollo Field in Grand Forks and are open to full-time UND students only.
In order to be eligible to try out, prospective walk-ons must do the following:
- Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center at https://web1.ncaa.org/eligibilitycenter/common/index.htm.
- E-mail Coach Strinz at samistrinz@mail.und.nodak.edu and provide NCAA Eligibility Center ID number.
- Complete the Tryout Info Sheet and Tryout Release Waiver and and return to Coach Strinz in advance of the tryouts. Click HERE to download the Tryout Info Sheet and HERE to download the Tryout Release Waiver.
- Provide proof of a physical by their own doctor.
- Bring own gloves and cleats to tryouts. Bats and helmets will be provided, but athletes may bring their own.
