Darkness falls at campers line up for men's hockey tickets

RALPH ENGELSTAD ARENA -- Hundreds of students lined up to be the first in line at buying season tickets for the University of North Dakota men's hockey season tonight. As the sunset, the crowd was estimated at nearing 1,000, most of whom were camping on the REA grounds.

Head men's hockey coach Dave Hakstol and member of the team talked with students, who were busy setting up tents and dodging mosquitos. Some studied, others sat in circles and talked, waiting until 10 a.m., when tickets first go on sale.

The event is capped by the Sioux Fan Fest, a fun, family event with autographs, a stage, demostration areas, silent auctions and more. That event runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. inside the REA.
