GRAND FORKS, N.D.--Following a WCHA split against nationally-ranked Denver last weekend, the Fighting Sioux men's hockey team is ranked No. 9 in the latest USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls released on Monday.
UND dropped one spot from last week's ranking after a 4-3 win over DU on Friday and a 3-0 loss on Saturday. The Pioneers, previously ranked No. 12, fell one spot to No. 13 in both polls.
The Sioux now prepare to face unbeaten Minnesota Duluth on Friday and Saturday in Grand Forks. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 2 in both polls and sit atop the WCHA standings with seven points, one point ahead of second-place UND.
