GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota has renewed a long-standing radio relationship by announcing that Clear Channel Bismarck has become the Bismarck-Mandan affiliate of the Fighting Sioux Radio Network.
"We are excited about renewing our partnership with Clear Channel Bismarck and we know that their group of stations will be a tremendous home for Fighting Sioux radio broadcasts," said UND director of athletics Brian Faison. "One of the most important aspects to this agreement is the return of Fighting Sioux hockey broadcasts to the airwaves in Bismarck."
"We are tremendously proud to be the radio home for Fighting Sioux sports in Bismarck-Mandan," said Clear Channel Bismarck general manager Bob Denver. "Once again we are excited to be affiliated with UND athletics. UND alumni have been clamoring for this. Our expansive coverage area makes it possible for many more fans to enjoy the Fighting Sioux."
The three-year agreement ensures that all Fighting Sioux football and men's hockey broadcasts, and UND's weekly coaches show will air in Bismarck.
Nearly all Fighting Sioux broadcasts will be on KFYR-AM, the Voice of the Northern Plains, or on 710 ESPN.
UND's weekly coaches show airs Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. from August through March.
