Fighting Sioux Radio Network broadcasts begin this week

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The 12-station Fighting Sioux Radio Network (FSRN) will begin coverage this week with live broadcasts of the Sioux Coaches Show live from the Green Mill and the football season opener at Idaho.

FSRN coverage includes all football and men's hockey broadcasts, along with the weekly Wednesday night show.

Clear Channel Grand Forks will again serve as the flagship station of FSRN. Clear Channel Grand Forks also will air all men's and women's basketball games, all women's hockey home games and a select number of road series. The Fox 96.1 FM is the home for football and men's hockey broadcasts. Sioux basketball broadcasts will be on Cat Country 100.3 FM, while The Fan 1440-AM features women's hockey broadcasts and the Sioux Coaches Show live from the Green Mill.

WDAY-AM is the new FSRN affiliate in Fargo and will air all football, men's hockey and Sioux Coaches Show broadcasts, along with a WDAY Game of the Week, which will feature additional broadcasts of men's and women's basketball, volleyball, women's hockey and baseball games.

FSRN also returns affiliates in Devils Lake, Dickinson, Langdon, Minot, Williston and Warroad, Minn.

The 2010-11 FSRN lineup also features newcomers Clear Channel Bismarck, featuring KFYR-AM and ESPN Radio 710, Fox Sports Radio 1410 in Beulah, KRJM-FM in Mahnomen, Minn., and KTRF-AM and KKAQ-AM in Thief River Falls, Minn.

"We are excited about the impact the expanded Fighting Sioux Radio Network will have for our alumni and fans," said UND Director of Athletics Brian Faison. "Sean Johnson, our senior associate athletics director, has done a tremendous job of growing the network and adding new programming to the broadcast inventory."

The broadcast lineup features veteran play by play announcers Tim Hennessy, Dan Hammer, Paul Ralston and Darrin Looker. 

Hennessy returns for his 32nd year as the voice of Sioux men's hockey, Hammer is back for his seventh year as the play-by-play voice for Sioux football, Ralston is in his second year as the full-time voice of Sioux basketball and Looker will be the play by-play-announcer for Sioux women's hockey for a fifth consecutive season.
