Grand Forks, N.D. – Fighting Sioux student-athletes from a variety of UND teams will host a free kids clinic on Saturday, April 16 (11 a.m.) at the Alerus Center. The one-hour event will precede the annual Green-White Spring Game, which is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
Young athletes from kindergarten through eighth grade are eligible to participate and each participant will receive a free mini-football and a free youth voucher good for one free admission with an adult ticket purchase to the 2011 home opener on Sept. 1 against Drake.
Check-in will take place from 10:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. inside Door One of the Alerus Center. Comfortable clothing appropriate for a wide-range of athletic activities is recommended (no cleats).
The kids clinic is one of many activities scheduled for Saturday at the Alerus Center that will also play host to the inaugural Sioux Tailgate Cook-off Challenge, a People's Choice competition for area restaurants and food vendors as well as a family scavenger hunt.
