Wall captures Great West weekly honors

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - After taking College Sports Madness Great West Conference Player of the Week honors yesterday afternoon, University of North Dakota sophomore center Allyssa Wall can now add Great West Conference Player of the Week honors to the list.

Wall, a native of North Sioux City, S.D., nabbed both awards after posting back-to-back double-figure games to lead North Dakota to a 2-0 record in conference play last week. She averaged 19.5 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 2.5 bpg, and 24.5 mpg.

She opened the week with a 29-point, 10-rebound performance during the 93-34 win over Houston Baptist. Up against the Huskies, Wall knocked down a career-high 13 field goals and went a perfect 3-for-3 from the charity stripe.

Wall followed with 20 points and six rebounds during the 93-60 win over Texas-Pan American. Against the Broncs she shot a team-best 8-for-10 from the field and went 4-for-6 at the free throw line.

Others nominated: Janay Dockery (Chicago State), Devyn Weymouth (Houston Baptist), Bianca Torre (Texas-Pan American) and Sammie Jensen (Utah Valley).
