GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota is ranked among the top five in the final 2013-14 editions of both national men's hockey polls released earlier today.
North Dakota (25-14-3) was ranked fourth in the USCHO.com Division I Men's Poll and fifth in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll. National champion Union was ranked No. 1 in both polls, followed by No. 2 Minnesota and No. 3 Boston College. Massachusetts-Lowell was fourth in the USA Today poll and fifth in the USCHO rankings.
UND advanced to its 20th NCAA Frozen Four – and sixth in 10 years under head coach Dave Hakstol – after winning the NCAA Midwest Region championship in Cincinnati. It was UND's 12th consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament, the longest active streak in the nation.
UND finished second in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) with a 15-9-0 conference record in the league's first year of existence.
