About Last Night
The Badgers won their third straight game -- handing UND its first loss in the process -- with a 3-1 victory over top-ranked UND before a capacity crowd of 11,788 at Engelstad Arena.
Corbin McGuire, Luke Kunin and Jedd Soleway scored three unanswered goals to wipe out an early 1-0 deficit. Luke Johnson (Jr., Grand Forks, N.D.) scored UND's lone goal at 7:31 of the first period.
UND outshot the Badgers 30-23, including a 12-4 margin in the the third period, but Johnson's goal was the only shot to beat UW goaltender Matt Jurusik. Jurusik finished with 29 saves, 22 of which came in the final 40 minutes.
Matt Hrynkiw (Jr., Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) stopped 20 shots and suffered the first loss of his career.
UND was without scoring leader Drake Caggiula (suspension) and sophomore defenseman Tucker Poolman (lower body injury). Caggiula will return to the lineup on Saturday while Poolman remains out.
