GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota men's tennis team defeated Concordia College (Minn.), 7-0 on Friday night at Choice Health and Fitness.

With the win, UND improves its record to 4-3 overall and claims its first victory on home court this season.

North Dakota got off to the start it wanted by sweeping the doubles portion of the match. On the No. 1 court, Connor Oberle and David Bergstrom won their second-consecutive match by defeating Isaac Toivonen and David Schneck, 6-1. It was the third win of the season for the pair, all at the No. 1 position.

Dustin Britton and Simon Danyluk paired up on the No. 2 court to take down Zach Zitur and Jesse Schneeberger, 6-1. The win was the fourth of the season for the pair, and improves their record to 4-3.

On the No. 3 court, Joe Lee and Daniel Choi pieced together a masterpiece defeating Austin Storm and Scott Schwandt, 6-0. For Lee, it was his third doubles win of the season and continues to be perfect. The win was also Choi's first win of the season in his first action.

UND carried the momentum it earned from the doubles point into the singles matches as the green and white did not drop a set to roll to a 7-0 win.

David Bergstrom won his fourth match of the year at the No. 1 position by defeating Isaac Toivonen by the score of 6-3 and 6-1. Bergstrom has now won four of his last six matches from the No. 1 position.

Joe Lee earned his third-consecutive win and first at the No. 2 position by defeating Zach Zitur, 6-3 and 6-1. Lee has won five of his last six matches and owns UND's best winning percentage in individual matches.

Matt Fuka and Hunter Oothoudt both earned their first career victories at UND with 6-2 and 6-0 wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions, respectively.

UND continues its home stand tomorrow as the Big Sky Conference leading Montana State Bobcats come to town at 5 p.m.
