FARGO, N.D. – Bismarck native Cataldo DiDonna got his senior year off to a strong, start pacing the University of North Dakota men's cross country team today at the season-opening Bison Open.
DiDonna ran a 6K time of 19 minutes, 39.9 seconds, and earned an eighth-place finish to top all Fighting Hawks.
UND was downed in a pair of duals by North Dakota State and South Dakota State, with those two schools splitting their respective duals.
SDSU's Brendan Sage took first place, clocking a time of 19:16.6 to edge teammate Micah Mather (19:22.0).
DiDonna and teammate Scott Kvidera both completed the course in under 20 minutes, with the junior Kvidera recording a time of 19:52.8
The Fighting Hawks will return to action in two weeks at the Montana State Invitational on Sept. 17 in Bozeman.
