Jeremiah Tiffin tabbed as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator

Winnipeg native joins the staff after successful run at Our Lady of the Lake University

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Head Coach Mark Pryor and the University of North Dakota Athletics Department announced on Friday that Jeremiah Tiffin has been named as an associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the UND volleyball program.

"Jeremiah's experience will be a great benefit to the program," said Pryor. "I have known him for almost a decade, and I have seen firsthand how hard he works. He has been a successful head coach at the two-year level, and the four-year level. He has served as a director of operations and a recruiting coordinator at a "Power Five" school. He has secured commitments from future Division I All-Americans. He has coached and trained All-Americans. He will be a huge benefit to the players, the staff, and the department. He is an insightful teacher of the game, and I know that he will be able to improve the skill sets of each student-athlete in our program. I really believe that our student-athletes will really enjoy working with him on a day in and day out basis."

Tiffin joins the Fighting Hawks after spending the previous four seasons as the head coach at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. There, he claimed a Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) title in each of his four seasons, the first RRAC titles in its volleyball history, and won at least 20 matches in three of those years. The Saints advanced to the NAIA National Championships in a trio of campaigns, had four NAIA All-Americans, and multiple all-conference and AVCA All-Region selections. He helped Kendall Groff become the first non-basketball player to join the 1,000 Club in school history after she finished with 1,061 kills.

"The only predictor of future success is past success," echoed Pryor. "With his ability to be successful at the places he has been previously, I have no doubt that his drive, his ability to connect, and his knowledge of the game will add value to the program."

Prior to his time at OLLU, Tiffin served as the recruiting coordinator for Baylor where he helped his alma mater ink a pair of top-75 players during the 2015 season.

His first head coaching stint came at Hill College for three seasons in Hillsboro, Texas. There, he compiled a 51-55 overall record, making the playoffs all three seasons and finishing no worse than third in the conference standings each year. Tiffin helped seven Hill College student-athletes earn first-team all-conference selections and three straight conference defensive player of the year winners.

Tiffin entered the college realm at Arkansas State, where he was a volunteer assistant for the Red Wolves in 2006. In his lone season, he helped guide ASU to a 21-14 record and second-place finish in the Sun Belt Conference.

Tiffin comes to North Dakota with his wife, Rachel, and their son, Isaac.
