ABOUT PURDUE FORT WAYNE
Purdue Fort Wayne enters Saturday's contest as one of only two programs in the conference to finish non-league play with a winning record. The Mastodons posted an 8-7 mark in nonconference action, picking up victories over Earlham, Manchester, South Carolina State, Cleveland State, Eastern Illinois, Akron, IUPUI, and Siena Heights.
The 'Dons have also played a challenging schedule, traveling to UCLA, Ohio State, and Dayton as part of their 15-game nonconference slate.
John Konchar is widely considered to be the most underrated player in the conference as the redshirt senior just recorded his 1,000th rebound on Dec. 20 vs. Siena Heights. Konchar has 635 career made field goals, the most in program history. He was named Summit League Player of the Week this past week for the sixth time in his career and is only the second player in all of NCAA Division I men's basketball to reach 1,500 points, 1,000 rebounds, 400 assists and 200 steals in a career.
