About Last Night
The Mavericks stayed hot on the power play with three goals on their first three opportunities, needing just four shots on goal to do so, and defeated North Dakota 6-3.

Omaha erased deficits of 2-0 and 3-1 with a 4-goal second period and closed out the game with five unanswered goals. Tyler Vesel, Teemu Pulkkinen and Luke Nogard all struck with the man advantage in the middle frame as the nation's best power play finished the night 3-for-4.

UND's own power play went 2-for-3 courtesy of goals by Matt Kiersted (Fr., Elk River, Minn.) and Shane Gersich (Jr., Chaska, Minn.). Freshman forward Jordan Kawaguchi (Abbotsford, British Columbia) added a goal and an assist.

The Fighting Hawks had their 5-game winning streak in Omaha come to an end despite outshooting the Mavericks 41-26.
