GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota will send a school-record nine student-athletes to the 2017-18 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field West Preliminary Round in Sacramento May 24-26.
North Dakota's participants at the regional meet will include: Matt Culhane (discus), Molli Detloff (discus, hammer), Jessica Drady (hammer), Chris Evenson (discus), Kyley Foster (pole vault), Destinee Haas (discus), Nolan Hovland (high jump), Michael Quesenberry (shot put) and Katelyn Weber (shot put).
It is the third regional appearance for Detloff, who also qualified in 2016-17 and 2014-15, and the second straight appearance for both Foster and Weber. Culhane, Drady, Evenson, Haas, Hovland and Quesenberry will all be making their first appearances.
“All nine are from our jumps and throws groups, which indicates just what a fantastic job [assistant coaches] Joe Silvers and Drew Jones are doing for us,” said North Dakota Head Coach Kevin Galbraith. “When you have good coaches who recruit good, solid people, nice things happen to your program and this group of nine is the proof. I'm very happy and couldn't be more proud.”
