ABOUT SOUTH DAKOTA
South Dakota enters Wednesday's contest on a bit of a slide, having dropped three of its last four contests.
The Coyotes have a 2-4 record in Summit League action, defeating Denver and knocking off previously unbeaten Purdue Fort Wayne, but falling to North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Oral Roberts, and Omaha.
South Dakota currently leads The Summit League in scoring defense, allowing just 67.9 points per game. USD has held four opponents to under 60 points this season, and most recently held Omaha to its conference-low 75.
USD is led by sophomore standout Stanley Umude, who has tallied four straight games of 20+ points and ranks third in the conference with 20.5 points per game average in league play.
SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday will mark the 188th all-time meeting between North Dakota and South Dakota, with UND holding a 99-88 lead in the rivalry series.
The Division I series is currently tied at four, with UND claiming the last three contests. A win by the Hawks would be the longest winning streak for UND since five straight victories from Dec. 1986 - Feb. 1988.
