ABOUT OMAHA
Omaha enters Thursday's contest on a hot start in league play, with its 2-1 record being the second-best start since joining The Summit League -- behind only a 3-0 start in 2015-16.
The Mavs boast their usual strong offensive attack, ranking inside the top third for scoring (88.3), field goals made (33.0), field goal percentage (.521), 3-point percentage (.440), assists per game (20.0), and turnovers per game (9.0) during conference play.
Five Mavericks are averaging 10 or more points per game: Zach Jackson (17.8 ppg), JT Gibson (14.3 ppg), KJ Robinson (10.6 ppg), Mitch Hahn (10.6 ppg) and Matt Pile (10.4 ppg) with Jackson and Gibson sitting inside the top-10 for scoring in the conference.
SERIES HISTORY
Thursday will mark the 92nd all-time meeting between North Dakota and Omaha, with UND holding a 54-37 advantage in the series.
While UND holds the series historically, recent matchups belong to Omaha as the Mavs have won the last seven contests.
The last time UND and UNO met as conference mates, the then-Fighting Sioux nearly pulled off an upset over Omaha in the 2008 NCC Tournament title game, but fell short, 75-68, despite 20 points from Emmanuel Little.
