SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Following a career day at Georgia Southern and averaging 16 points per game, North Dakota sophomore
Jaclyn Jarnot was named The Summit League's Player of the Week.
She opened her 16-point week with an 8-of-13 shooting performance that included a 4-of-6 clip behind the arc at Georgia Southern as the Fighting Hawks staved off an Eagles come back, 69-56. The Brooklyn Park, Minn., native was 4-for-5 from the field in the fourth quarter with 11 points to lead UND.
She followed up against a hard-nosed Illinois State team with a 10-point, four-assist, and four-rebound afternoon, nearly rallying the Fighting Hawks to victory after a 17-point deficit in the third quarter.
The honor is the first of Jarnot's career and the first for the University of North Dakota since
Lexi Klabo picked up her third honor last season on Feb. 11. Jarnot is shooting 42-percent from the field and behind the arc, averaging 14.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
North Dakota will return to action tomorrow night, hosting Northland College in the first game of a doubleheader with the men's team. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
