North Dakota falls, 5-0, at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – Battling against a power school from a power conference, the University of North Dakota women's tennis team put up a fight, but fell, 5-0, to Nebraska on Saturday afternoon in Lincoln.

The Cornhuskers (8-6) earned victories on the top pair of courts to quickly earn the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead, but the pairing of Zahra Finnigan and Allie Ochotorena held a 4-3 lead at the No. 3 position when two-person play was stopped.

Moving into singles play, Nebraska claimed triumphs in straight sets on the No. 1, 3, 2, and 5 courts to seal the overall match victory, but once again the Fighting Hawks (4-4) would not go down without a challenge.

From the No. 4 position, Ochotorena picked up a 7-6 victory in her first when play was called while Alex Revenig was currently battling in a tiebreaker on the No. 6 court after posting a 6-2 win in the first set and falling 6-3 in the second.

North Dakota heads right back to action tomorrow morning vs. Colorado State in a neutral-site showdown from Lincoln at 10 a.m.
