DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The University of North Dakota women's tennis team kicked off a stretch of three straight matches in the state of Florida on a winning note, defeating Bethune-Cookman, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon in Daytona Beach.

UND posted its second win over its last three matches to move to 6-6 on the season and captured its fourth win away from Grand Forks.

Bethune-Cookman (1-5) captured the doubles point with wins on the top and No. 2 courts, but the Fighting Hawks did carry grab some momentum from the two-person play as
Alex Revenig and
Zahra Finnigan captured a 6-4 triumph at the third position.

The bottom courts helped the Fighting Hawks jump in front on the scoreboard, as Revenig and
Masha Lobanova each tallied wins on the fifth and sixth spots, respectively, to put the visitors up 2-1.

Preethi Kasilingam extended the lead to 3-1 with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at the No. 3 court before Finnigan sealed the victory at the No. 4 position with a 6-4, 7-5 triumph.
Isa Sullivan notched the fifth singles win of the afternoon for the visitors, rallying to win in three sets, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, to start the weekend off right.

The Wildcats cut the deficit to 5-2 with a three-set win of their own on the No. 2 court, but North Dakota finished with the victory.

UND is right back in action tomorrow morning against Stetson at 10 a.m. in DeLand, Fla.
