Eades Historic Run Closes UND's California Trip

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Junior Erica Eades highlighted the final day of action at the Beach Invitational for the University of North Dakota on Saturday, running the fastest time by a Fighting Hawk in the 800-meters since the University jumped to Division I in 2008-09.

After several near attempts at setting a new PR - falling less than three-tenths of a second shy in her last two races - Eades broke through the ceiling as she ran a 2:10.88 in the race, nearly shattering her previous best by over two seconds.

The time moved her to fourth all-time in the UND record book, passing former teammates Megan Kienholz time of 2:11.31 at the Big Sky Championship in 2017.

Autumn Stokes extended her consistent string of performances in the triple jump as she jumped 38-0.25 (11.59m), marking the fourth time in six outdoor meets she's jumped at least 38 feet. Stokes set a new school record at the Emporia State Spring Invite in the event with a mark of 38-5.50.

Natalie Mohring uncorked her best throw of the week in the discus after competing at all three meets this weekend. Mohring recorded 142-8 (43.50m) in the event after throwing 133-11 at the Bryan Clay Invitational and 135-7 at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate.

UND will return to action Tuesday, April 23 for the Cobber Twilight in Moorhead, Minn., followed by the Ron Masanz Classic at Moorhead State on Saturday, April 26.
