GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota men's tennis team swept a pair of matches on Saturday to open up the home slate of its 2020 schedule from Choice Health and Fitness.
The Fighting Hawks rolled to 7-0 victories over Augustana and Concordia College to push their winning streak to five straight matches and move to 5-2 overall.
In doubles play, all three pairings left no doubt in each of their matches today to give UND victories.
Edmond Aynedjian, who was paired with
Andreja Petrovic for the first time this season, moved to 5-1 this season in the two-man game with a pair of victories; while
Jake Kuhlman moved to 4-1 with a 6-1 win over the Cobbers on the No. 2 court.
Petrovic and Jonatan Parat kept their perfect starts to their UND careers alive with a pair of singles victories. Petrovic moved to 6-0, all on the top court, while Parat is now 3-0 from both the No. 4 and No. 5 positions.
Alex Mailes collected his first two wins of the season on the No. 6 court, including a 6-0 sweep over Concordia, to move to 2-3.
Chuck Tang ran his singles streak to three and his doubles streak to four with a perfect day on the court.
North Dakota returns to action on Feb. 14 for a Valentine's Day showdown against Green Bay from Choice Health and Fitness at 5 p.m.
