Jordan Kawaguchi. The junior forward has led a resurgent North Dakota team all the way to the top of the Pairwise Rankings while sitting among the best statistically in the nation in a host of different categories.
Heading into the final week of the regular season, Kawaguchi has piled up 45 points (2nd in the NCAA), 30 assists (T6th nationally) and 15 goals (T4th in NCHC). The Abbotsford, B.C., product has helped the North Dakota power play from the 52nd unit in terms of scoring last season to the 16th-best in the country this year with the 7th-best power-play percentage (.274) in conference games this season.
Kawaguchi and the Fighting Hawks have secured at least a share of the NCHC's Penrose Cup and will be in search of the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament this weekend when it closes out the regular season at Omaha.
