NOTES: Fighting Hawks aim for sweep of Leathernecks

Next Game: vs. Western Illinois
The University of North Dakota men's basketball team will look to make it a weekend sweep and six straight overall against Western Illinois on Saturday night from the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. Fans can catch all the action on MidcoSN 2 with Jody Norstedt and Zachary Dosch or tune into Paul Ralston on the Home of Economy Radio Network.

Series History vs. Western Illinois
This will be the 11th all-time meeting between North Dakota and Western Illinois, with UND holding a 7-3 advantage in the series. After UND won the first two meetings in 1967, the Western Illinois captured three straight meetings in 1980 and 2011, but the Hawks are a perfect 5-0 against WIU since joining the Summit League in 2018-19.

19 Somethin'
UND battled back from a 19-point deficit in the first half to pick up the 83-81 win over Western Illinois on Friday, the largest comeback victory for the Hawks since March 6, 2018 against Montana State in the Big Sky Conference Tournament. That was also a 19-point rally.

Nero Finding His Groove
Redshirt sophomore guard Caleb Nero has been finding his groove over the last three games for the Hawks, reaching double figures in back-to-back-to-back games for the first time since early December. Nero scored 12 points, including scoring seven of those points in the final three minutes of action, in the win over Western Illinois on Friday.

Shooters Shoot
UND put together its best shooting performance of the season in the comeback win over Western Illinois, connecting on a season-high .522 clip from the field and knocking down 8-of-19 from three, matching the season best against Minnesota on Dec. 4. The Hawks were also deadly at the charity stripe, hitting 27-of-33 from the line.

UND hit 17-of-28 from the field in the second half, a whopping .607 percent, which includes a 7-of-12 mark from distance.
