GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota soccer team (3-6-1, 1-1-0 Summit) concluded its weekend homestand by shutting out Oral Roberts (3-7-1, 0-2-0 Summit), 2-0, at Bronson Field on Sunday afternoon.
Julia Briggs netted the first goal of her collegiate career in the 83rd minute off a beautiful assist from
Bailey McNitt. The goal would eventually be the game-winner and occurred when McNitt dribbled into the left side of the box and found Briggs near the right post for the score.
McNitt dished out a second assist in the 88th minute to put the game on ice when she found
Mara Yapello near the right post to put UND up 2-0 late.
Prior to the 83rd minute, the game was scoreless. Oral Roberts held a 4-2 advantage in shots at halftime and finished with a 12-10 edge in scoring attempts. Both teams finished four shots on goal in the game.
The Fighting Hawks recorded a shutout, powered by
Madi Livingston who was in net the entire game and recorded four saves.

Alisha Maake also played the entire 90 minutes.
McNitt,
Cassie Giddings and
Lexi Miller led North Dakota in scoring attempts with two shots apiece.
North Dakota will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 10, when they visit North Dakota State. Kick-off in Fargo is scheduled for 1 p.m.
