CHICAGO -- The University of North Dakota men's tennis team defeated Chicago State, 6-1, on Saturday from The Windy City to move to 2-0 on the weekend.
In doubles play, UND (5-2) rebounded from a defeat on the No. 2 court to post back-to-back victories by a 6-4 score on the top and bottom positions to move in front, 1-0, after two-man play.
Lucas Percy kept the streak going with a pair of 6-2 wins on the No. 5 court to extend the lead to 2-0 before
Edmond Aynedjian pushed it to 3-0 with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph on the No. 4 court to push the match to its brink.
Chicago State earned a point with a sweep on the No. 6 court, but the Fighting Hawks dominated on the top-two courts, with
Johnatan Parat rolling to a 6-3, 6-4 win and
Gerhard Sullwald finishing off the victory with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph.
North Dakota closes the weekend with another contest against Chicago State on Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
