Series History vs. Denver
This will be the eighth all-time meeting between North Dakota and Denver, with UND holding a 5-2 lead in the series. All five of those wins have come in the last three seasons, with the Hawks sitting perfect against the Pios since joining the Summit League in 2018-19.
Streak Busting
With a road victory over Denver on Feb. 5, UND will be looking to piece together back-to-back road wins for the first time in awhile. The Hawks have not won two straight true road games since three straight triumphs in February 2017 to clinch the Big Sky Conference title.
UND has also not won back-to-back games in general yet this season, having to go back to Mar. 8-9, 2020 at the Summit League Tournament to find the last time the Hawks won two straight.Â
The last time UND defeated the same opponent in back-to-back games on the road in the same season was Feb. 14-15, 1946 against North Dakota State.Â
Miles Of Points
North Dakota has enjoyed its trips to Denver since joining the Summit League, picking up a trio of wins over the Pioneers. UND has won two of those games by double digits and enjoyed an overtime victory over DU in Friday's opener. The Hawks have also scored at least 80 points in all three of those games.Â
Overtime Is Fun Time
UND notched its 15th win since moving to Division I in 2008 in overtime, 12th in the single OT period and third under
Paul Sather in the Feb. 5 contest at Denver.Â
The Jan. 16th overtime W over NDSU was also the first home win in OT since Feb. 17, 2018 vs. Northern Arizona and the first against NDSU since Feb. 7, 2004 in a 76-73 Fighting Sioux win at the Ralph Engelstad Arena, the final game between each other as Division II opponents.Â
Shooters Shoot
Since a .364 shooting performance against North Dakota State on Jan. 15, UND has been clicking on the offensive end over the last six games. During that stretch, the Hawks are hitting at a .468 clip, including a whopping .497 rate over the last three tilts, to post a 3-3 mark over those games.Â
The Hawks hit 29-of-58 (.500) in the win over Denver on Feb. 5 to move to 2-0 this season when hitting 50% or higher.Â
