DES MOINES, Iowa -- The University of North Dakota men's tennis team fell, 7-0, to Drake on Saturday afternoon from the Roger Knapp Tennis Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
UND drops to 10-6 overall and 2-2 in league play, but is still in strong position for the upcoming Summit League Tennis Championships in Denver beginning on Apr. 30.
In doubles play,
Edmond Aynedjian and
Petro Alex evened play up with a 6-4 win on the No. 3 court, but Drake answered back with wins on the No. 1 and 2 courts to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
The Bulldogs built the lead and never looked back, picking up four wins in two sets before
Johnatan Parat and
Lucas Percy each pushed their matches to three sets, but ultimately came up just short, as the hosts claimed the 7-0 win.
North Dakota will hit the road next Saturday to Omaha for the final time in the regular season to battle the Mavericks at 2 p.m.
