GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Following a split against top-ranked Minnesota on the road, North Dakota moved up to No. 6 in the DCU/USCHO Poll and remained seventh in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll that were released on Monday.

UND (3-2-1) played to a pair of overtime games against the Golden Gophers, dropping Friday's game by a 3-2 score before rallying for a 5-4 victory on Saturday. The win marked the first for the program over a No. 1 team since Nov. 16, 2019 at Denver but is unbeaten in four of its last five against a top-ranked squad.

Drew DeRidder was sparkling in net for the Fighting Hawks, starting both nights for the first time in his UND career. The Fenton, Mich., native made 35 saves in the opener before turning aside 37 in Saturday's win to become the first North Dakota goaltender to post back-to-back performances with at least 35 saves since Cam Johnson on Dec. 11-12, 2015 at Minnesota Duluth.

Riese Gaber found the back of the net in both contests to run his streak to four straight games with a goal, the longest of his career, while Chris Jandric made it 10 points in the first six games with a three assist weekend. Jandric currently leads the NCHC in points and sits fourth in the nation.

North Dakota returns to action on Saturday night against Arizona State for the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game in Las Vegas, Nev. The game is set for 9:07 p.m. (CT) and will be carried live on Midco Sports and the Home of Economy Radio Network.
