NOTES: UND Gears Up for Trio of Matches

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The North Dakota volleyball program is gearing up to play three Summit League foes over the next six days, beginning at Oral Roberts on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. The Fighting Hawks will then travel to Kansas City to take on the Roos at 1 p.m. on Saturday, before returning home to battle the Coyotes of South Dakota inside the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Quick Hitters
- Last week, North Dakota picked up its sixth and seventh wins in the Summit League, defeating St. Thomas (3-1) and Western Illinois (3-0). The win over the Leathernecks was the seventh win in league play, making it the most wins for UND in the conference since joining the Summit League.

- The win over WIU was also the sixth sweep of the season, the most the Fighting Hawks have had since picking up 18 sweeps in 2017. 

- North Dakota currently has 10 wins on the season, the most since picking up 12 victories in 2019.

- Setter Elizabeth Norris leads the conference and is No. 5 nationally in triple-doubles this season with three on the season. This year alone she has piled up 173 kills, has a team-high 372 assists and has dished out 177 digs.

- Kortney Carney ranks sixth in the conference in total digs with 275 on the season, averaging 3.57 digs per set. The next best Hawk defensively is Maddy Hornyak with 193 total digs (2.57 per set).

- Marissa Stockman averages 0.99 blocks per set, making her the No. 7 blocker in the league. She paces the team in blocks with 70.0 on the season.

- The Fighting Hawks have four of the top-30 players in the Summit League in kills per set. Ashlyn Olson ranks No. 15 in the conference with 2.51 kills per set, trailed by Norris in 19th with 2.34. Sierra Ward averages 2.01 terminating attacks each set, ranking No. 24 in the league. Stockman is the No. 28 attacker in the conference with 1.79 K's/set.

- Olson and Norris pace the team this season in K's with 181 and 173, respectively.

- Izzy McCormick has a team leading 23 service aces, trailed by Hornyak with 20.

- In the two wins last week, Norris was the top player offensively, posting her third triple-double of the season on Saturday vs. Western Illinois, racking up 11 kills, 14 assists and 10 digs in the 3-0 sweep. She also added nine kills, 24 assists and nine digs two days earlier against St. Thomas. On the weekend, Norris averaged 2.9 kills per set, 5.4 assists per set and 2.7 digs per set.

- Hornyak was the top player defensively for UND last week, piling up 26 digs in the four-set win over St. Thomas and 19 digs in the sweep over Western Illinois. She led the Fighting Hawks with 45 digs and 6.4 digs per set on the weekend, while also leading NoDak in service aces against the Leathernecks with two.
