NOTES: UND aims for opening weekend sweep

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Following a 6-0 victory on opening night, No. 3 North Dakota goes for the weekend sweep over Holy Cross on Saturday night from Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, N.D.

All UND men's hockey games, home and away, can be heard on stations across the Home of Economy Fighting Hawks Radio Network, as well as through the iHeart Radio app. Longtime broadcaster Tim Hennessy calls the action and is joined by his new partner in the booth, Travis Dunn. Tonight's game can be heard in Grand Forks on 100.3 FM (Cat Country).

Both contests game can be seen on Midco Sports with Alex Heinert and Jake Brandt calling the action, with Taylor Budge joining the crew as the rinkside reporter. Fans can also watch online through NCHC.tv with a subscription. 

No. 3 North Dakota struck four times in a 4:20 span in the first period to jump out in front and never look back in a 6-0 opening win over Holy Cross on Friday night from Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Jackson Blake scored his first career goal on the power play at the 8:24 mark of the opening frame before graduate student forward Mark Senden cashed in just 17 seconds later to double the NoDak lead and spark the offensive onslaught.

Goals by Gavin Hain and Cooper Moore less than a minute apart capped off the four-goal barrage in the opening 20 minutes while goaltender Drew DeRidder stopped all 27 shots fired his way to notch his first shutout in a North Dakota uniform.
