Fighting Hawks fall, 3-0, to South Dakota State

BROOKINGS, S.D. -- The University of North Dakota volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-15) decision to South Dakota State on Thursday night from Frost Arena in Brookings, S.D.

With the loss, UND (12-16, 9-8 Summit League) is locked into the No. 6 seed for the upcoming Summit League Volleyball Championships beginning next Thursday in Omaha. The Fighting Hawks will battle either Omaha, North Dakota State or Denver in the quarterfinal round.

Freshman Katy Riviere had her best match as a Fighting Hawk, leading the squad with a personal-best seven kills on 21 swings to finish with a .143 hitting percentage. Elizabeth Norris and Marissa Stockman each totaled five kills, with Stockman's .333 hitting percentage pacing everyone on UND.
