OMAHA, Neb. -- The University of North Dakota volleyball team fell, 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-17), to No. 3 seed North Dakota State in the Summit League Quarterfinals on Thursday evening from Baxter Arena in Omaha, Neb.
UND closes the season with 12 wins, the most in a single season since 2019, and nine victories in league action. Those nine triumphs are the most since the Fighting Hawks joined the Summit League in 2018.
Elizabeth Norris and Marissa Stockman each paced the Fighting Hawks with 12 kills and both hit over a .350 clip. Norris notched yet another double-double with a team-high 17 assists and nearly had her seventh triple-double of the season with eight digs. Stockman's 12 kills are the most in a match for her since Nov. 5 against North Dakota State and the 14th time she has hit over .300 in a match this season.
Maddy Hornyak led the team with 13 digs while Izzy McCormick also reached double figures with 10 to pace the NoDak defense. The pairing also had both of North Dakota's service aces in the match, giving the duo 31 and 29, respectively, to lead UND during the season.
