AUSTIN, Texas – Competition at the Texas Relays began Wednesday at Mike A. Myers Stadium with the heptathlon.
In the event,
Elise Ulseth represented North Dakota and is currently in 15th place after four events with a total score of 3,187 points.
Ulseth began the day with the 100-meter hurdles and ran a time of 14.40 to start the day with 923 points. Her most impressive showing of the afternoon came in the second event in the high jump with a height of 5-8 1/2 (1.74m) to tie the school record. Ulseth shares the school record with Wendy Kinneberg who cleared 5-8 1/2 (1.74m) at Moorhead in 1990.
The senior from Kristiansund, Norway, recorded a mark of 36-9 (11.20m) in the shot put and concluded the day with a time of 26.51 in the 200 meters.
Ulseth still has the heptathlon long jump, javelin and 800 meters on Thursday and is already 807 points away from cracking the UND top-10 list in the event.
Ulseth will resume the heptathlon at the Texas Relays at 10:30 a.m. (CT) on Thursday. The rest of the team will split up and will begin action at the Texas Relays, Bobcat Invitational and Raleigh Relays on Thursday. Live results for all meets can be followed on
