UND powers past IUPUI, 4-3, for 11th win

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The University of North Dakota men's tennis team rallied from an early deficit to defeat IUPUI, 4-3, on Thursday afternoon from the West Indy Racquet Club in Indianapolis, Ind.

UND (11-7) now has wins in three of its last four matches, with the 11 overall victories matching the program's Division I record for wins set during the 2018-19 season.

After the Jaguars grabbed a 1-0 lead in doubles play, it was the bottom courts who took over for the visitors in singles action. Cian McDonnell knotted the contest at 1-1 with a 6-2, 6-4 victory on the No. 3 court before Nikita Snezhko gave the green and white the lead by a 6-3, 6-4 score at the fourth position.

The Fighting Hawks kept their lead growing on the No. 5 court, as Riley Odell rolled to a 6-4, 6-2 triumph to put the match within clinching position. It was Dylan Leeman at the sixth spot who brought home the match win with a pair of 6-4 triumphs.

North Dakota turns its attention back to conference play on Saturday evening against Illinois State at 8 p.m. from Bloomington, Ill.
