FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Natalie Mohring was the third and final North Dakota track and field athlete to compete at the NCAA West Preliminary Round and threw the discus on Saturday.
Mohring took 44th in the event with a throw of 146-2 (44.56m), becoming the fourth Fighting Hawk in North Dakota's Division I history to compete in the discus at the NCAA West Preliminary Round.
Mohring had a stellar season throwing the discus, breaking the Lillibridge Track Complex Facility Record at South Dakota with a throw of 176-3 1/2 (53.73m) for the No. 3 mark in school history during the regular season. She also placed fifth in the discus at the Summit League Outdoor Championships two weeks ago with a toss of 151-8 (46.22m).
Elise Ulseth will wrap up North Dakota's track and field season in Eugene, Ore., on June 10-11 in the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and will become the first UND combined events athlete to compete at the National Championships in program history.
