BOSTON – Six student-athletes from the University of North Dakota hockey program were honored by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) as Krampade All-America Scholars on Wednesday afternoon.

To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 grade point average for each semester and had to appear in 40% of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and backup goaltenders.

Luke Bast, Judd Caulfield, Ethan Frisch, Jakob Hellsten, Louis Jamernik and Jake Schmaltz were all honored for their work in 2021-22, with Caulfield and Frisch earning the selection for the third straight year. Bast, Hellsten, Jamernik and Schmaltz were all recognized for the first time.

North Dakota has now had at least four selections in all six years of the award, dating back to 2016-17.
