HOPEWELL, N.J. -- Fifth year guard
Kacie Borowicz added another preseason honor to her plate on Wednesday, earning a spot on the 2024 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award Preseason Watch List, as announced by Her Hoop Stats.
Borowicz is one of 25 players who were named to the preseason list, with the Roseau, Minn., native previously being selected as the Summit League Preseason Player of the Year earlier this month.
Borowicz has been a mainstay on the conference's all-performer teams during her career, earning back-to-back All-Summit League First Team honors in each of the last two seasons after pacing the league in scoring over those campaigns. Last season, the Roseau, Minn., native put together one of the best scoring seasons in program history to finish 14th in the nation with a 21.1 points per game average while her 674 total points last season were the second most in the program's single-season history.
The guard reached double figures in 31 of UND's 32 games last season, including 17 contests with at least 20 points and five 30-plus outings. Borowicz could also dish the rock, leading the Summit with 4.8 assists per game and finishing seventh in the league with a .425 field goal percentage.

Award Eligibility & Schedule
To be eligible for this award, players must compete in one of the 26 conferences deemed to be "mid-major". The following conferences are considered high-major for the purposes of this award, and thus ineligible: ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12, and SEC. In January the 15-player mid-season watch list will be announced, followed by 10 semifinalists announced in February. The five finalists will be announced in early March, with the winner announced around the Final Four. The list is fluid and players may play their way on or off the list over the course of the season.
