GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The North Dakota men's basketball team with host NAIA opponent Valley City State Thursday night, looking for their second win this week. The Fighting Hawks defeated Elon 86-68 on Sunday.

North Dakota will host Valley City State at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center Sunday, Nov. 12. Paul Ralston will be on the call on the Home of Economy Radio Network. The game can be seen on the Summit League Network, with Chad O'Shea calling the action.

Series History vs. the Vikings
The Fighting Hawks have played VCSU 24 times over the years, with the first meeting coming in 1906. Overall, the Fighting Hawks own a 22-2 edge in the series, with the most recent meeting coming in 2015—an 80-59 win for North Dakota.

Last Season
North Dakota finished the 2022-23 campaign with a 13-20 record, a seven win improvement over 2021-22. The Fighting Hawks won their first Summit League Tournament game in three years with an 83-68 win over Denver in the first game of the tournament. The team won six of their last nine games, regular and postseason, last year.

Bench Boost
North Dakota finished the 2022-23 season with the most bench points in the Summit League, averaging 24.76 points per game from the reserves; which was 39th in the nation. Reserves chipped in 20 points in the season opener at Iowa and followed with 20 against Elon.
