Series History vs. the Lopes
Monday marks the fifth all-time meeting between North Dakota and Grand Canyon, with NoDak holding a 4-1 advantage in the series. The Fighting Hawks and Lopes have met just once before in Grand Forks on Mar. 17, 2016 with UND earning a 57-51 win.

Grand Canyon won their first game against UND 73-60 in last season's matchup in Phoenix, Ariz. North Dakota had five players score eight or more points, led by Kacie Borowicz's 12 points, but the Hawks were held to a .375 shooting percentage. The Lopes knocked down 11 three-pointers and shot .433 from the field.

Last Time Out: at Wyoming
NoDak fell in their season opener 77-60 to Wyoming Monday night. Sammiyah Hoskin made her 27th consecutive start for the green and white, while Kacie Borowicz appeared in the starting five for the 58th time in her career.

Borowicz paced the Hawks with 29 points on 11-of-17 shooting. Rakiyah Beal just missed a double-double and set new career bests with 12 points and nine rebounds. NoDak outscored Wyoming 21-19 in the third quarter to pull within four points heading into the final frame, but would run out of gas at Arena-Auditorium.

Protect the Betty
NoDak was nearly perfect in the Betty last season with a 13-1 record while holding a +13.7 scoring margin. The Hawks were undefeated in home nonconference games at 5-0 and started the season with 10 straight home wins. UND posted their best record at the Betty since the 2013-14 squad held a 15-1 record at home.

The Fighting Hawks averaged 74.3 points per game and allowed just 60.6 per contest in games, including just 30 to UW-Superior. UND poured in a season high 108 points in a home win over Oral Robert that saw six Fighting Hawks reach double digit scoring.
