COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Junior forward Cameron Berg was named NCHC Forward of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday evening.
The junior was dynamic all weekend for the Fighting Hawks in a winning weekend over Denver, helping UND notch four out of six possible points against the Pioneers in Magness Arena. Berg struck for goals in both games, notching a pair in Friday's 7-5 comeback victory before opening the scoring and tallying the primary assist on the second UND goal in Saturday's finale.
Berg finished the weekend with three goals and an assist, recording multiple points in both contests. The West Fargo, N.D., native now has tallied at least two points in three of his last four games and at least once over the last four series dating back to Nov. 10 at Minnesota Duluth.
The Omaha transfer was also strong in the faceoff dot, finishing with 13 wins on Friday and adding another six on Saturday to finish with a .594 winning percentage.
On the season, Berg sits second on the team with 16 points in 16 games while also ranking tied for third with seven goals for the Hawks.
