NOTES: Men's Basketball Closes Out Regular Season Against St. Thomas

| By:
GRAND FORKS, N.D. - North Dakota will take on St. Thomas (Minn.) Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. Fans can follow all the action on the Midco Sports, as well as by tuning into Paul Ralston's call on the Home of Economy Radio Network.

Series History vs. the Tommies

Saturday will be the 16th meeting between the Hawks and the Tommies—UND owns an 8-7 edge in the series, which dates all the way back to 1923, but the Tommies have taken two of the three meetings as Summit League opponents. Earlier this season Tommies took the first meeting of the season between the two 75-62.

Last Time Out

North Dakota fell to Western Illinois 81-70 in a game where the Hawks struggled to get in rhythm from the field and a few spurts at key times proved to give the edge to the Leathernecks. Tsotne Tsartsidze grabbed his fourth double-double of the season with 19 points and 13 rebounds (his 19 points tied his career high, which he set at WIU earlier this season). B.J. Omot scored 16 and Treysen Eaglestaff scored 14 off the bench.

Bench Boost

North Dakota enters the matchup with the most bench scoring in the Summit League and is No. 46 team nationally in that category. The Fighting Hawks are averaging 24.87 points per game from the reserves this season. The next closest bench in the league is Omaha with 23.66.

Shaking it up

North Dakota used their ninth different starting lineup combination of the season the last six games (Jalun Trent, Matt Norman, Brady Danielson, B.J. Omot and Tsotne Tsartsidze), which equaled the number of different combinations used last season. On the team, Tsartsidze has the most active consecutive starts currently with 50, followed by Omot with 30. Danielson and has started the last 17 games and Trent the last 15.
