Finstad Takes Fifth at FSU Relays, Moves Up to No. 7 in School History

| By:
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Jerzie Finstad was the only member North Dakota track and field team to compete on Friday, running in the 400 meters at the FSU Relays. Finstad took fifth in the event with a personal-best time of 56.14, moving her up to No. 7 on the UND top-10 list.

Finstad has impressed early on this season, winning the first event title of the outdoor season on the track for UND last weekend, wining the 400 meters with a time of 56.52 at the Redlands Invitational. At the time, that mark put her on the UND top-10 list at No. 8. The following day in San Diego, Finstad competed in the 200 meters and put down a PR time of 25.18, good for the No. 10 time in school history. She also ran a leg on the 4x100-meter relay at both meets, helping the squad take sixth with a time of 48.33 at the Redlands Invitational and posting the fifth-fastest relay time in program history at the time. The next day, she joined the 4x100-meter relay once again and helped the team clock a PR time of 48.10 to take fifth, moving the relay team from No. 5 in school history up to No. 3.

North Dakota will split up for the Texas Relays (March 29 & 30), Mike Fanelli Track Classic (March 30 & 31) and the Stanford Invitational (March 31 & April 1).
