SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks (18-11) lost in the quarterfinals at the Summit League championships to the University of Nebraska- Omaha Mavericks(14-16), 84-81.
Kacie Borowicz led with a season high of 36 points. She surpassed Lexi Klabo for DI season points leader with 600. Currently, she is tied with Jenny Crouse for fourth in all time points in a season.
Juliet Gordon had her fourth double double with 11 pts and 10 rebounds.
Claire Orth had 11 points.
The Fighting Hawks struggled to get started as the Mavericks came out with a 3-0 lead. North Dakota would fight tooth and nail to tie it up at 15. The second quarter was more of the same back and forth. UND not able to take a foothold and get into rhythm. Headed into the locker room down three.
North Dakota would come out fighting and would be able to come back to within one before Omaha pulled away late in the fourth quarter. UND trailed by 10 with 58 seconds left and would bring the deficit down to three in the final second of the game.
