OMAHA, Neb. – The North Dakota Softball team returned to Omaha this weekend for a series with the Mavericks, and dropped the first two on Saturday afternoon 3-0 and 3-2. Makaela Carr and Jackie Albrecht each had solid outings and both threw complete games. Carr allowed three runs on five hits with three strikeouts in game one while Albrecht allowed one earned run (three total) in game two while also fanning three batters and giving up just five hits.
In game one Omaha scored all three runs in the first inning while keeping UND off the board. In game two Omaha got the first two runs before Katelyn Neumayer tied the game up with two run double in the fourth. Omaha broke the tie with the winning run in the bottom of the fifth.
Key Points
· Neumayer got the first two RBIs of her career with her two run double in game two. It was her first extra base hit as a Fighting Hawk.
· Madi Moore picked up hits in each of the two games.
