Box Score OMAHA, Neb. – The North Dakota Softball team capped off its weekend in Omaha with a 4-2 win over the Mavericks of Omaha, courtesy of a two-run home run in the 9th inning from Mariah Peters. After a scoreless first two innings, UND broke the deadlock with a sac fly from Madison Pederson with the bases loaded in the third inning. Later Cassie Castaneda stole second, and on a throwing error she advanced to third while Izzy Haslett came in to score and make it 2-0.
Omaha got one back in the bottom of the third, and then in the bottom of the seventh tied the game up to send it to extras. In the eighth both teams went 1-2-3, sending the game to the ninth. Following a one out single by Katie Joten, Peters came up and sent the game winning homer over the wall in center.
Makaela Carr picked up her third win of the season as she pitched two innings in relief of starter Jackie Albrecht and Kamryn Meyer was the losing pitcher for Omaha.
