AUSTIN, Texas – North Dakota track and field heptathlete
Elise Ulseth earned honorable mention All-America accolades at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday, finishing 19th with 5,274 points.
Entering the day, Ulseth sat 22nd with 3,253 points. The Summit League runner-up in the long jump went to work right away and put down a day-high total of 706 points with a leap of 18-1 1/2 (5.52m). With her jump, Ulseth moved up from No. 22 to No. 21 in the heptathlon standings.
Less than two hours later, the Norwegian native recorded the 11th-best throw in the javelin with a mark of 131-4 (40.04m), moving her up to No. 20 in the standings before the final heptathlon event.
Ulseth wrapped up her stay at the National Championships with a time of 2:33.69 in the 800 meters for her final 647 points of the day, which brought her total to 5,274 points and earned her honorable mention All-America status.
Post-Meet Notes
* It was a strong competition this year with five heptathletes finishing with over 6,000 points and 20 heptathletes accumulating more than 5,000 points at the National Championships.

Elise Ulseth earned honorable mention All-America status for the second consecutive year, also finishing 17th in the heptathlon at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
* Ulseth was the lone combined events student-athlete to represent the Summit League at the NCAA Outdoor Championships this season.
* By competing at the meet, Ulseth became the first Fighting Hawk to compete in the same event at the National Championships since Molli Detloff competed in the hammer throw on the national stage in 2019 (sixth) and 2017 (12th).
